Early Spring Golf Getaways: Tee Off and Unwind at Nailcote Hall

Can you feel it? The days are getting longer, the air feels a bit milder, and those first hints of spring are starting to peek through in Warwickshire. February and March are honestly some of the nicest times to grab your clubs and head out for a golf break. No more battling frost or heavy winter layers, just lovely gentle weather that makes every swing feel good. Here at Nailcote Hall, we absolutely love this time of year on the Cromwell Par 3 Golf Course. It is the perfect moment to play a round, then relax with a cuppa or something stronger, all while the estate wakes up with fresh blooms and green everywhere. Whether you are coming as a couple for a romantic day out, a golf society looking for a fun outing, or a family wanting a proper getaway, we have everything you need right here on site. Come and join us, you will love it!

Why the Cromwell Par 3 Golf Course Shines in Early Spring

Our Cromwell Par 3 Golf Course really comes into its own as spring begins. This nine-hole championship course (par 27, just over 1,000 yards) has hosted the British Par 3 Championship, so you know it is proper quality. But do not worry if you are not a pro, it is designed to suit everyone. The holes vary from short and sweet to a bit more challenging, with water features, bunkers, elevated greens, and clever hazards that test your short game without needing massive drives.

In February and March the weather is so much kinder. Temperatures are climbing (usually 8 to 13 degrees Celsius during the day), there are fewer frosty mornings, and you get more hours of daylight to enjoy your round. The course stays in brilliant condition, the fairways look lush, and the whole place feels alive as trees start budding and early flowers appear. It is just beautiful out there.

Here is what makes it so special right now:

1. Perfect for Every Skill Level: Holes range from 95 to 146 yards, so beginners can enjoy it and experienced players still get a good workout on their irons, wedges, and putting.

2. Gorgeous Spring Scenery: Play surrounded by blooming countryside, rolling hills, and fresh green views. It makes every hole feel like a little treat.

3. Handy Clubhouse Setup: The Pertemps Pavilion has secure changing rooms, a well-stocked Pro Shop, and a lovely balcony where you can sit with a drink and soak up the views after your round.

4. Great for Groups and Societies: We love hosting golf societies and corporate days. Flexible tee times, tailored packages, and plenty of space make it easy and fun.

5. Pro Help on Hand: Our PGA professionals are around for lessons or tips, so you can fine-tune your game in the nicer spring weather.

After Your Round: Time to Relax and Enjoy

Once you have finished playing, there is no rush to go anywhere. Everything is right here for you to unwind properly. Lots of our golfers head straight to afternoon tea in The Oak Room Restaurant. Picture this: a beautiful tiered stand arrives with fresh finger sandwiches, warm scones piled with clotted cream and jam, and a lovely selection of homemade cakes and mini desserts. Unlimited tea and coffee means you can sit and chat for as long as you like. If you fancy making it extra special, go for the Bottomless Bubbles upgrade and enjoy 90 minutes of prosecco. It is the perfect way to celebrate a good round!

In the evening, The Oak Room Restaurant serves delicious dinners using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Everything is beautifully presented and tastes even better after a day outdoors. For a more laid-back vibe, Rick’s Bar is brilliant for cocktails or a light bite, and if there is live entertainment on, it adds a nice touch without being too much.

And if you want to really switch off, the Leisure Club is waiting:

1. Indoor Swimming Pool: Heated and so relaxing for a swim or a gentle float together.

2. Gym and Extra Wellness: Modern kit for a light workout, plus the Jacuzzi and steam room to ease any tired muscles.

3. The Grounds: Wander around the 15-acre estate. The early spring flowers and peaceful views make it a lovely spot for a stroll or just sitting with a coffee.

It all comes together so nicely. Play in the fresh air, then relax in comfort.
